This colorful, low-sugar smoothie bowl blends naturally sweet cherries, tangy lime juice, and creamy reduced-sugar yogurt into a refreshing base topped with crunchy whole-grain granola. Each 1-cup portion provides 9 grams of protein, 8 grams of fiber, and ½ cup of fruit, meeting breakfast meal pattern requirements while keeping added sugars in check. Best prepared fresh for same-day service, it’s a cool, nutrient-rich option that brings bold flavor and vibrant color to your breakfast menu.

Instructions

  1. Place yogurt, frozen cherries, and lime juice in a 5 gallon bucket. Using an immersion blender, blend until pureed and smooth. Taste test smoothie. If texture is not smooth, continue to blend.
  2. Using a #4 disher or 2 #8 dishers, portion 1 cup into 10 oz bowls.
  3. Place in freezer until time of service. Do not freeze day before service.
  4. Shortly before service, top with 1 oz granola by weight. Hold and serve at 41°F or below.
