June is National Dairy Month, and New England Dairy is celebrating the joy of real dairy through social media, educational resources, and events. This year’s theme honors the vital role dairy plays in delivering quality nutrition to sustainably nourish the world.

Here are a few of the ways we are telling the dairy story this month:

  • Op-eds From Dairy Farmers: We worked with dairy farmers in CT and MA to write op-eds for local media highlighting topics including sustainability and cow care.
  • Social Media: Our team created content for social media, celebrating a different dairy food each week and highlighting where each of them begin – on the farm with you! Topics include sustainability, cow care, and the nutritional value of dairy. Visit us Facebook or Instagram throughout the month to see new content and share on your farm’s profile.
  • Consumer Events: We kicked the month off by bringing the Mobile Dairy Bar and the new Mobile Dairy Experience to KISS 108’S KISS Concert in Massachusetts. We were joined by Marah Deckers, a former New England Dairy Digital Dairy Ambassador whose family owns Taft’s Milk & Maple Farm in Vermont. Marah was able to answer questions about dairy farming and share her dairy story on World Milk Day.
  • eCommerce: We are collaborating with our neighbors at American Dairy Association Northeast on an eCommerce campaign at Price Chopper (powered by Instacart) focused on Greek yogurt and milk for smoothies. The campaign will drive consumers to a landing page including nutrition information on milk and yogurt, as well as smoothie recipes. The campaign will feature blog posts, Facebook advertisements, sponsored keyword search, and more. New England Dairy is also supporting this eCommerce campaign directly through Instacart in collaboration with ADANE, using the same advertisements to reach additional retailers.

We’ll be connecting with consumers all month long to celebrate dairy’s contributions to health, communities, and our planet, with stops in Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. View our calendar to join us at an upcoming event.

During National Dairy Month, we encourage you to get involved. The following tips and tools can help you share your dairy story with consumers or share how we’re working on your behalf to build trust and sales in dairy with other farmers:

  • Explore our Digital Toolkit: New England Dairy has created a digital toolkit for farmers to use, which includes sample social media messaging, a content calendar for post ideas, and other resources.
  • Follow us on Social Media: Experience firsthand how we’re telling your story to consumers by following us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Our content can be easily shared on your own profile too.
  • Tell your Farmer Friends: Dairy is front and center this month, and we’re leveraging this interest to tell your story to as many consumers as possible. National Dairy Month is also a good opportunity to introduce us to other farmers in your community so we can tell them about the work New England Dairy is doing on your behalf as your local checkoff organization.
