Dairy Nutrition in School Meals: Supporting Student Health and Development

Dairy foods play an important role in child nutrition programs due to their unique nutrient package; however, many students are not meeting the recommended servings of dairy. This 30-minute webinar will explore the nutritional contributions of dairy foods to student health and answer common questions related to dairy foods. Learn why you can feel good about encouraging your students to choose dairy.


Upon completion of the training attendees will:

  1. Explain the nutrient contributions of dairy in the diet and why it is included in the school meal patterns. ​
  2. Understand dairy’s role in supporting child health & development.​
  3. Discuss the essential nutrients are in cheese, milk, and yogurt.

Kristin Ricklefs-Johnson is the Director of Nutrition Research at the National Dairy Council who oversees the Childhood Health, Personalized Nutrition, and Nutrition AI research platforms. Her main responsibilities include staying current on the existing body of literature, strategic planning and management of dairy-related research related to her areas of subject matter expertise.
