Amanda is responsible for supporting wellness programs in schools by providing dairy nutrition educational materials, dairy promotion resources and technical assistance for school nutrition personnel, teachers and key leaders in school districts.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of Connecticut. Prior to the start of her career with the dairy council in 2006, Amanda was a School Nutrition Director in Naugatuck, Connecticut for seven-and-a-half years, and spent two years as an adjunct lecturer at Norwalk Community College teaching Culinary Nutrition. Previous to becoming a dietitian was a Licensed Practical Nurse in the U.S. Army Reserve.
In her free time Amanda can be found running around the streets of Naugatuck, CT, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, or patrolling the slops of Mt. Southington as a member of the National Ski Patrol.
