Black women experience persistent and disproportionate cardiometabolic health disparities, highlighting the need for nutrition interventions that can be thoughtfully integrated throughout the client care cycle. This session will examine the social, cultural, environmental, and healthcare factors that influence dietary patterns and nutrition-related outcomes among Black women. Participants will explore culturally relevant foods and dietary practices that may support or challenge cardiometabolic health and consider how these factors can inform nutrition assessment and counseling. The session will emphasize culturally responsive, patient-centered approaches that incorporate food traditions, preferences, family practices, and lived experiences into individualized care plans. Participants will learn strategies for developing patient-contributed nutrition recommendations that honor cultural food traditions while aligning with evidence-based cardiometabolic health guidelines.
