Make Every Bite Count: Digesting the New Birth – 24 Month Dietary Guidelines

Presented by: Erin Quann, PhD, RD, LDN

An exciting milestone was achieved in child nutrition with the first-ever Dietary Guidelines for infants and toddlers just released.  A nutritious diet is critical to support a child’s growth and development, as well as to lay the foundation for lifelong healthy eating habits early in life.  However, research indicates that we have some work to do.  Join us to learn more about these evidence-based recommendations and implications for your practice.

This presentation will:

  • Review the 2020-2025 Birth – 24 Dietary Guidelines for Americans
  • Assess U.S. children’s current food, beverage and nutrient intakes compared to the Guidelines, utilizing data from the Feeding Infants and Toddlers Study (FITS)
  • Discuss practical approaches to advise parents and caregivers on key topics, such as starting solids, early allergen introduction, building a diverse dietary pattern, and the importance of healthy beverage choices.

Please note you will need to answer a few questions to view the webinar recording and to access your CPE.
